In order to create a character in The Exiled Realm of Arborea, a person has to go through the Character Creation system.

All new characters must go through this customization process. The character creation screen features all seven races (Aman, Baraka, Castanic, Elin, High elf, Human, and Popori), and all thirteen classes (Archer, Berserker, Brawler, Gunner, Lancer, Mystic, Ninja, Priest, Reaper, Slayer, Sorcerer, Valkyrie and Warrior). Players can choose either male of female version of each race except for the Elin (all female), Baraka (genderless), and Popori (seemingly all male, although they appear as somewhat gender neutral animals).

Character Appearance[]

The character creation allows players to customize their character's appearance in the game. This exact same interface opens when using the Character Appearance Change Voucher.

Character creation features the following detailed options:

Character creation doesn't allow full customization of character. Certain new hairstyles are missing from character creation and can only applied with hairstyle change coupons. Some hair colors are only available from hair color change vouchers. There are also few new hairstyles provided from Hair Costumes. Character body is default to race and can only modified with Shape Changers.

Character creating interface has been updated once after game release, but it's functionally identical to the old user interface. (And it's TBH starting to show its age. Other Bluehole game which uses the same UE3 engine has already more options to edit character body.)

Tips on Character Creation[]

Take your time. It's not uncommon to spend one hour on modifying the character.

Presets are mostly pretty bad. Ignore them. Instead start with page "Face". There are 2–3 faces that look nice without huge adjustment. After you picked face, go to "Features" page and select hairstyle and color. Oddly, available options under the "Adornments" depend on which face you choose.

When previewing with different outfit, note that some armors change hairstyle to upswept. This means every hairstyle in character creation is actually composite of two hairstyles. You can force upswept hair with certain wearable items.

Finally, when character is ready, screenshot every single page of character creator, and all tabs under fine details. This is only way to re-create character appearance.
