Experience point

Experience points (commonly abbreviated as XP or EXP) are measure of character's progress towards reaching the next level in MMORPGs. Once the experience bar is filled a character will level up, which may unlock new skills or allow use of new equipment, open new quests, etc.

Experience can be gained by mainly either completing quests or hunting down enemies.

In TERA, upon logging out whilst in settlement, a character will begin to slowly gain rested experience points which greatly increase the amount of experience a player gains from slaying enemies until the rested experience is used up.

Once a character reaches the level cap, that character will no longer be able to gain any more experience until the level cap is increased.

In TERA, the level cap is currently:

• Level 70 in TERA Korea (as of 2019)
• Level 65 in TERA NA, TERA Europe, Russia, SEA
