Health, often abbreviated as HP (hit points), is a game mechanics in many games. It describes amount of damage character can take before he dies. If the health points of a character drops to zero, the character is dead.

In TERA, the amount of health a player starts with depends on the class of the character. Character health can be raised with certain equipment, especially armor and earrings. Also some foods give extra 5% or 10% health for limited time. Character health can be restored by healer or potions. Also certain classes have skills to restore part of their own health.

Various shields cast by healers for party or sorcerer on themself work like extra health and absorb certain amount of damage before character health is affected.
