Meteor Strike is an active skill that can be taught to Sorcerers at level 26 and can be ranked up at later levels.

Meteor Strike can be performed with a disc by the Sorcerer to deal an high amounts of AOE damage. However, it has a very long cast time, so for PvE, it is wise to only use this spell to start a fight as by the time the mob turns hostile towards you, they would have lost a significant amount of health. In PVP is a great idea to combo this skill along with Time Gyre and Mindblast.

Amount of damage dealt varies dependent on skill rank. Meteor Strike is AOE skill that does equal damage to each target when hitting group of enemies. This is achieved with Enhanced Meteor Strike passive skill.

This skill was originally know as Fireblast. It was changed in sorcerer revamp (NA: Spellbound patch, EU Portentous Rebirth) in October 2016 and replaced with current Meteor Strike, which works similarly, but is much faster. Original cast time for Fireblast was 12 seconds. Meteor Strike got further rework with sorcerer's apex update. It executes even faster, but actual attack happens only after casting the skill has finished. This allows sorcerers to change their rotation so that skills buffing other skill, like Nova, can be cast after Meteor Strike.
