"It's a graveyard for the arrogant..." --Barakavec (623)
This article is about removed content, an article of a subject that is no longer available in TERA and very unlikely to ever return due to development decisions. The article remains here for historical purposes.

Runes were material for crafting equipment, often coveted by players due to their relatively low drop-rate as loot from various monsters, and due to the amounts needed for certain higher-level crafting recipes.

Main use for runes was leveling up Weaponcrafting and Armorcrafting even there was no need to craft weapons or armor. Runes as monster drops were removed when TERA stopped making loot drops from open world monsters. When alchemy was gutted in 2016 basic runes were added to merchants and you had to again process those to get more advanced runes for crafting.

Runes[]

Note that the crafting skill Alchemy can teach players the ability to convert common runes to the corresponding level's uncommon form. However, there are no level 15 uncommon runes; conversion will result in having level 25 uncommon runes instead.

By the 2015 version of the game common Titans' runes no longer drop. Only uncommon runes exist (until returned to merchant for crafting purposes). Bosses listed in boss rune pages are for 2015 version.

Notes[]

  • If the player's level is much higher than that of the mob, the chance of the mob dropping a rune is decreased.
  • Rune Tier is determined by the monster's level, the rune it drops will be the highest tier it can. For example, a level 26 monster will drop Silrunes, not Paverunes.
  • Titan runes are only dropped by BAMs, while boss runes are only dropped by dungeon bosses. (until Common runes removed.)
  • Shara runes are used only for Weaponsmithing, while Arun runes are used only for Armorcrafting. Thus the Weapon/Armor classification in the table above.
